Random Reflective Ramblings, pt. 2

Yay... it snowed outside today!!!

Minesweeper is still the most awesome game on the planet. The other day, I was thinking to myself, what if xfire supported minesweeper? But, lo and behold, I went and looked, and it does!! I have a new challenge for everyone here... Play minesweeper with xfire on, until it reaches the top of the "Today's Top Games" list.

You know what is really good? Limes. They rock.

Oh yeah... the new version of windows came out recently. We'd buy it and review it, but that would probably necessitate purchasing a new computer to run its fancy graphics. So, we came up with an ingenious plan. You all just keep buying cool merchandise from our store, until we get enough money to go out and buy vista/a few new computers/some new games to test on vista   and then we will review it for you for free. See, it is a win-win situation.  You get cool merchandise, and you get a review of Vista telling you whether or not you should buy it!!!!

The other day, some friends and I got into an argument over whether windows or apple is better. I summed it up with the following logic:

Strengths of Macs:
-more secure
-better for art/music/video/graphic design
-iPods are nice and cool and such
-the iPhone is the coolest thing since pickles
-the actual Mac computers look cooler
-UNIX shell underneath is better
-the time machine backup thing is much better than any backup thing that windows has
-better plug-n-play support for different things

Strengths of Windows:
-more software for it
-more games
-easier to program games for
-more common
-it has minesweeper!!!!! yay!!!
-is easier to upgrade components such as graphic cards, etc.
-games!

So... it really depends on what you are using it for. Since windows is more common, and there is more software for it, many large companies use it. However, if you wanted to be safer or to do any type of multimedia work, apple is better.
There isn't really one that is exactly better than the other.

Really enjoyed your perspective on Mac vs Microsoft. I, too, would like to switch to Mac, but as usual cost is the issue. We're both burnt out on the crap Microsoft continues to put out...did I tell you one of our neighbors telecommutes from home for Microsoft? And did you know that they hire a large percentage of uneducated (not formally trained/degreed) programmers and software engineers? I'm very proud of you and your abilities!

I really think windows is better for all those things.... We have a brand new apple and I really like our windows pc better. Unfortunately, it would seem I am the ONLY one who thinks this.
