Games Spotlight! - Issue 1
Hello everyone! Work on Wizard 2.5 is well underway, but we thought that we should help you find some things to do while you wait for it to be ready. First of all, you could always go to the STORE and buy a few things. However, that wouldn't make a very exciting article. So, we decided to talk a little bit about some of our older games, and maybe help you find something that you would enjoy playing!
This first issue of our Games Spotlight will focus on the "Classics Collection" and the "Action Collection" package.
The Classics Collection
This is a .zip file of our first three games, which are mildly amusing. Although they don't show off our best talents, they are enjoyable for a brief diversion, or if you want to delve deep into the history of RabidCentipede.com. Anyway, the file contains three games: Virus.Hack, Rocky the Magic Rock, and Balldrop.
Virus.hack, the first game we ever made, is similar to pong. However, in the single player mode, you control both of the paddles. Your goal is to keep the ball (or balls) bouncing back and forth while it collides with small "viruses," which will rack up points for you. There is also a two-player mode, where one player controls each paddle.
The next game in the classics collection, Rocky the Magic Rock, is a challenging - and frustrating - platformer in which you must maneuver rocky, who can fly, to the magical warp at the end of the level. Rocky must avoid fire and bulldozers, but can collect magic items to increase his score. Once you have a score of 75, you can hit the spacebar to activate Rocky's magic powers, putting out all of the fires in the level.
The final game in the classics collection is Balldrop, which is, in our opinion, one of the weirdest games ever. You start by using the arrow keys to move Daisy the Cow to the magic warp to begin the game. Next, you must move daisy through each level, collecting as many of the multicolored bouncy balls as you can. While you are moving through the level, you need to avoid the blue ghosts. Your goal is to get to the magic warp at the end of the level.
The Action Collection
This is a .zip file that has some of our slightly more recent games. Inside of it are two of our action favorites: FDS and Sky Magic.
FDS, which stands for First Dragon Shooter (as opposed to First Person Shooter), is a mysterious adventure in which you must save the world from an evil enraged dragon. With each of the levels, the music becomes more ominous, and the enemies become harder. The boss battles become especially tough! You aim with a cross hair, and shoot by clicking. This riveting game will have you on the edge of your seat!
Sky Magic is a rather unique game. In it, you control the sun at the bottom of the screen. You move back and forth with the arrow keys, and can fire heat waves with the space bar. Your goal is to destroy the moon, who paces back and forth at the top of the screen. You can damage the moon by bouncing clouds at it, or by firing heat waves at it. Green magic balls will restore your heat waves, while purple magic balls will heal the moon.
We hope you enjoy these games, and will keep waiting for Wizard 2.5!
